Digital data transfer is characterized by unique challenges that require a different approach than analog data transmission.
For example, S/PDIF or AES/EBU connections between the CD player and its D/A converter transfer binary data packets (i.e., square waves, quite different from sine waves).
This suggests that the cable could not appreciably affect the overall quality of the transferred data, since spurious capacitance cannot attenuate the signal.
This is true in principle, but… the square wave passing through the digital cable can affect jitter.
Consequently, the signal’s time delay will affect the phase.
For this reason, it is also necessary to consider signal velocity, dielectric properties, and spurious capacitance, thus influencing the cable geometry, conductor type, and dielectric medium.
The Vyda Koral digital cable is designed for audio enthusiasts who accept no compromises. Crafted with select materials and advanced technologies, this cable delivers exceptional audio performance for an unparalleled listening experience.
Koral digital cables are made with a solid-core conductor, always a copper-silver alloy. These are highly dynamic and transparent audio cables, with a very wide and rich soundstage. The individual conductors have a larger cross-section than the Orion and Artemis cables. We have extensively tested and studied the correlation between the different cross-sections of the conductors and their effects on sound quality.
For us, the Koral digital cable is one of the best examples of this.
Our digital cables also use only pure natural cotton dielectrics for conductor insulation and a proprietary metal shielding design.
The Koral Digital cable contains a copper substrate on our pure silver solid-core wire, created using a custom galvanic process. This process has been refined and perfected over many hours of experimentation to produce an uncompromising audio experience.
This special treatment gives the Koral Digital cable an extremely fast and transparent sound.
The Koral Digital cable has a highly dynamic sound, rich in low-frequency harmonics, thanks to the large cross-section of the solid-core, while maintaining a mid/high range rich in harmonics and breadth between instruments. The sensation of fatigue or hardening in the sound is virtually absent.
